The message ‘Christmas in Carlingford’ is ringing true as the village prepares to welcome delighted visitors to its celebrations this year with festive events lined up to really get you in the festive mood! New business’ offering wider choices AND guarantees an even wider range of shopping choice for everyone. The Good Food Circle restaurants are also preparing for the festive season with delicious menus for your Christmas party night with new venues like Taafes Castle newly renovated function room…..
December is a full month of festivities with the village hosting CHRISTMAS CRAFT & FOOD FAIR’ s throughout December, running on Sunday 6th AND Sunday the 13th.
The Watchhouse Gallery is opening for a Christmas also with ‘Artworks’ showcasing new work by Colum McEvoy and Liam O'Neill which will be running to December 6th
is kicking the celebrations off this weekend. This event is free to the public and is at its traditional location in St. Michael’s Hall. The village is offering a craft & food fairs every weekend between now and mid December offering everyone the opportunity of finding that ‘something special’ present. The fairs will be running Fri 27th to Sun 29th. , Sunday 6th and Sunday the 13th.

On Tuesday 1st December will see Carlingfords CHRISTMAS DISCOUNT SHOPPING NIGHT when the village shops get into the festive season offering unique gifts for everyone on this once-a -year discount night in the village. Come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere as you browse through the shops, which are open from 9.00am - 9.00pm with discounts up to 20% with complimentary mulled wine and mince pies! Local bars and coffee shops will be open offering gourmet evening snacks.
On Thursday 10th, there is a Christmas Flower Demonstration at 8pm in Holy Trinity Heritage Centre with lots of ideas for Christmas decorating and wrapping.
On Friday 4th the annual Christmas Country Barn Dance in the Carlingford Arms is happening in aid of the Children to Lapland Appeal which is always a fantastic night of ‘craic with Henry Mac’ including leg waxing, head shaving and waiter races!.
Sunday 6th welcomes the Christmas Craft & Food Fair in St Michaels Hall and the man in the red suit will be welcoming kiddies in the heart of the village also! For the girlies – a ‘Bring out your Diva’ night and Fashion show is on the Tuesday 8th December in the Four Seasons Hotel.
Continuing the festivities on Sunday 13th December with the next Craft & Food Fair and also an afternoon recital by Clermont Chorale in Holy Trinity Heritage Centre.. Clermont Chorale will be performing Christmas carols in the beautiful surroundings of the visitor centre.
New Year resolutions start early in Carlingford with a Christmas Pudding Run at Carlingford Sailing Club at 9.00am on the 19th December and
Ghan House will be presenting their popular festive cookery school line up throughout December with a new costume dress and storytelling event on ‘Coming of the Light’ on Mon Dec 21st from 7.00pm- Midnight.
Finally on Dec 31st Carlingford Marina is planning their first New Years Eve Gala Dinner with courtesy transport for those who fancy taking in the New Year overlooking the spectacular Carlingford Lough!
