‘Medieval Challenge’

Visit our medieval family living in an original tower house in Carlingford - Taaffes Castle, uninhabited since 1600!

Eight volunteers from all over Ireland will reside in the ‘dwelling’ for 7 days.  Come and support them as they forage for food, fish for their supper and slumber with their animals, preparing for a visit from King John.  A real heritage experience is guaranteed with a diminutive medieval village presented to the fore of the dwelling house where you are invited to browse amongst the professional and craft making practices common within the bustle of medieval village daily life.

Family entertainment will include street performances, archery lessons, jousting, falconry demonstrations, medieval market, art exhibitions and walking tours of the historic town.
