During the past 6 months the Chamber has lobbied with varying degrees of success on the following:
Economic Development
The Chamber has pursued IDA believing that they must platform Dundalk with it’s attendant infrastructure and status, we wish to see the facilities offered here enhanced and to see that cluster focus on incinerating, logistics, IT and food see current and future progress further up the supply chain.
Horse Racing
Support for the allocation of Ireland’s all weather horse racing track to Dundalk. Horse Racing Ireland are the decision makers of every elected member who has influence, our largest audience.
Insurance
Like the poor, so insurance costs appear to be always with us. We have asserted that improvements to both the level of competition and the legal process are fundamental if businesses here are to compete. Measures such as PIAB are beginning to impact.
Spatial Policy
Here to impress the value of including the business voice within the North East region; with focus on the delivery of hard targets for industrial and joined up infrastructure that will ensure Dundalk meets its Gateway vision.
Town Centre
Appeals to see Dundalk’s town centre retail and amenities addressed in a cohesive and inclusive manner so that it evolves to be a centre that is attractive. The Town Council and all street and centre operators’ co-operation is vital to deliver a better and competitive environment.
